BUILDING CODE REPORTS

§ INSURANCE + CLAIMS3 min READUPDATED 2026-08

Generate a building code report by property type and roof type to back up code-required line items on a claim.

Code requirements are where many claims leave money behind: when local code requires work the carrier's scope didn't include, you need documentation to argue for it. A building code report gives you that backup, generated from the property's characteristics.

§Generate a report

  1. 01Open the REPORTS tab and select + GENERATE.
  2. 02Choose Building Code.
  3. 03Select the property type.
  4. 04Select the roof type.
  5. 05Generate. The report files under the BUILDING CODE group.

The two inputs matter: the report is built for that specific combination of property type and roof type, so pick the values that match the job rather than generic defaults.

§Using it on a claim

Code items are classic supplement material. Keep the building code report with the rest of the claim file, and export it when the adjuster asks for justification — when Rev drafts a supplement from the carrier scope, documented code requirements give the included items teeth.

  • VIEW opens the report; SELECT plus EXPORT PDFs exports one or many.
  • Use the LAST 30 DAYS filter to find recent reports quickly.
  • Report PDFs shared with the customer appear in their portal Reports tab.
