CREATE A WORK ORDER

§ JOBS + STAGES4 min READUPDATED 2026-08

Create work orders from the hub or a customer record, assign crew or a subcontractor, and read the work-order row.

A work order is the unit of field work in Revolve Core: what needs doing, who is doing it, and when. You can create one in seconds from a customer record or from the company-wide hub, then hand it to your own crew or a subcontractor.

WHERE: CUSTOMERS → open a customer → WORK ORDERS tab

§Two ways to start

  • + NEW on the customer's WORK ORDERS tab opens an inline create modal, pre-scoped to that customer.
  • + on the JOBS hub creates a work order from the company-wide pipeline view.

§What is on a work order

Each row on the WORK ORDERS tab is built to be read at a glance:

  • A DAY tile — the day offset from the first scheduled date, so a multi-day project reads DAY 1, DAY 2, and so on.
  • The task or scope of work.
  • The work-order number (WO#).
  • The assigned crew or subcontractor.
  • A status chip showing where the work stands.

Tap any row to open the full work-order detail.

§Assign crew or a subcontractor

Assign the work to your own crew or to a subcontractor from your roster. Assigned subs see the job in their own portal, where they can accept or decline it and follow the scope, schedule, and progress. Subs see their sub price only — your customer pricing is never exposed to them.

§Multi-job customers

When a customer has more than one job, assign the work order to the right job so it shows up under the correct scope. The job picker and job scope banner on the customer keep every tab filtered to the job you are working.

NOTE
The WORK ORDERS tab also shows a MATERIAL ORDERS · COMING SOON placeholder — material ordering from a work order is not live yet.
TIP
Admins can shape every new work order with the WORK ORDER DEFAULTS setting — a default trade, automatic assignment, and whether before and after photos are required. Search for it from the Admin Console.
