A tour of the subcontractor portal — five tabs plus quick actions — so you know what your subs can and cannot see.
Subcontractors sign in to their own portal with a five-tab navigator. It is built for a sub who may work with several contractors at once: their jobs, messages, payments, and compliance documents all live in one place, scoped to what each contractor has shared with them.
SUBS hub — see "The SUBS hub" in this category.§The five tabs
- ◆Home — the sub’s dashboard: stat tiles, a week snapshot, the contractors they work with, and the five quick actions.
- ◆Jobs — assignments across all linked contractors. Pending assignments can be accepted or declined; each job shows scope, schedule, and progress. Job search included.
- ◆Messages — threads with contractors, with an unread badge.
- ◆Payments — submit payment requests and capture receipts. Requests move submitted → approved → paid (or rejected).
- ◆Docs — COI, W-9, workers’ comp, and licenses, with expiring/expired highlighting and verified badges.
§The Home tab
Home opens on four stat tiles that tell a sub where they stand before they scroll:
- ◆Docs expired — compliance documents past their expiry date.
- ◆Docs expiring within 30 days — paperwork about to lapse.
- ◆Open incidents — incident reports still open.
- ◆Crew active — how many of their crew are currently active.
Below the tiles sit a snapshot of their week, the list of contractors they work with, and the quick actions: + LOG TIME, + RECEIPT, + PAY REQUEST, + UPLOAD DOC, + REPORT INCIDENT.
§Pricing privacy
Subs see their sub price on a job. Customer pricing is hidden from them — what you charge the homeowner never appears in the sub portal.
§What subs can do on a job
Beyond the five tabs, subs work their jobs directly: before/during/after photos with a visible-to-customer toggle, job notes, time entries, incident reports, change-order requests, and crew management. See "What subs do in the field" in this category for the full walkthrough.
§What you can send to a sub
- ◆Notes — a customer note posted with the "visible to subs" toggle shows to subs and carries a
SUBS SEEchip on your side. Everything else stays internal. - ◆Tasks — assign via the
SUBCONTRACTORsegment of theASSIGNpicker on the customer’sTASKStab. - ◆Work orders — assign a crew or subcontractor on the work order.
- ◆Invoices —

+ PAY REQUEST in their portal. It lands in your approvals queue with everything attached, instead of in an email thread.
