SECTIONED ESTIMATES AND INVOICES

Use the § SECTIONED block builder for multi-part scopes that need more structure than a flat line-item list.

Some jobs do not fit a flat list of line items — a roof plus gutters plus interior repair, a phased build, or a document that needs explanatory sections between the numbers. The § SECTIONED builder is a free-form alternative to the standard editor: you assemble the document from blocks, in any order, and it works for both estimates and invoices.

WHERE: CUSTOMERS → open a customer → ESTIMATES/INVOICES tab → § SECTIONED

§How the builder works

The sectioned builder gives you 15 block types to stack however the document needs. Instead of one pricing table, you compose the page section by section, which keeps a multi-trade or multi-phase scope readable — each part of the job gets its own clearly labeled area.

  1. 01Open the ESTIMATES/INVOICES tab and tap § SECTIONED.
  2. 02Add blocks and arrange them into the sections your job calls for.
  3. 03Save, then use the row actions like any other document — preview it, edit it, and send it to your customer.

§Templates

The sectioned builder ships with templates, so recurring document shapes do not have to start from a blank page. Pick the template closest to the job and adjust from there — for most companies that is faster and more consistent than free-building every time.

§When to use sectioned vs standard

  • Standard + NEW ESTIMATE / + NEW INVOICE: one scope, one pricing list, fastest path.
  • § SECTIONED: multi-trade or multi-phase work, documents that mix narrative and pricing, or anything where layout matters.
  • ◆ REX AI: let AI draft the first version from photos, voice notes, or a scope, then refine.
TIP
A sectioned estimate that mirrors how you will invoice the job — one section per phase — makes the later invoices read as a natural continuation instead of a surprise.
