WHAT YOUR CUSTOMER SEES WHEN SIGNING

Knowing exactly what your customer experiences when they sign makes you better at walking them through it on the phone — and better at spotting where a stuck signer actually is. This guide follows a signer from the email to the completed, sealed document.

Every signer gets their own personal signing link by email. There is no account to create and no portal login required — the link is the whole experience.

§Opening the document

1. 01The signer clicks their link. If you protected the document with an access code, an ACCESS CODE gate comes first — they enter the code you gave them before anything renders.
2. 02The document opens with only their fields highlighted, labeled YOUR FIELDS — signature, initials, text, and date fields assigned to them. Fields for other signers are not theirs to fill.
3. 03A live counter pill tracks progress: N FIELDS LEFT counts down as they complete fields, flipping to READY TO SIGN when everything required is done.
4. 04They check the e-sign consent checkbox, which carries your company’s e-sign disclosure.
5. 05They tap ADOPT & SIGN to apply their signature and finish their turn.

§Multi-signer documents

With sequential routing, signing advances turn by turn — each signer is emailed when the previous one finishes, so nobody signs out of order. CC recipients receive a read-only copy, and viewers must open the document and can ✓ ACKNOWLEDGE RECEIPT, which gives you a record that they saw it.

§Signing in person

When the customer is standing next to you, use in-person signing mode: hand them your device, they sign on the spot, and the signature is stamped as in-person in the record. No email round-trip needed.

§When the last signer finishes

The system renders a sealed final PDF, fingerprints it with SHA-256, and issues a Certificate of Completion. Because of the fingerprint, a signed document can be cryptographically verified later — you can prove the PDF in hand is byte-for-byte the document everyone signed.
