CAMERA, VIDEO, AND OFFLINE CAPTURE

Inside the capture camera — tag-first photo types, video clips, the toggle row, batch review, and the offline queue that uploads when signal returns.

The capture camera is built for job sites, not photo albums. It tags photos as you shoot them, records video clips, stamps location data onto shots, and keeps working when the signal doesn’t — queueing uploads until you’re back in coverage. Here’s the whole surface, control by control.

§Tag first, then shoot

A row of photo-type chips sits across the top of the camera — your company’s Photo Types taxonomy, the same list admins manage in the Admin Console. The flow is tag-first: pick the type, then shoot, and every photo lands already filed under the right category. When the subject changes, switch chips and keep shooting.

§Photo and video

A PHOTO / VIDEO switch changes modes. In video mode, the shutter records a video clip with a live ● REC timer on screen while it runs. Video is also one tap away from anywhere on the customer via ⚡ ACTIONSRECORD VIDEO.

§The toggle row

ToggleWhat it does
TORCHContinuous light — for attics, crawl spaces, and dark corners
FLASHCycles OFF / ON / AUTO
GRIDOverlays grid lines for lining up shots
STAMPStamps GPS and metadata onto the photo as an overlay
FLIPSwitches between the rear and front cameras

§Batch capture and review

Shots stack as you take them. The bottom bar reads CANCEL · shutter · REVIEW {n}, with the count climbing as you shoot — so you can work through a whole roof without leaving the camera. When you’re done, REVIEW {n} opens batch review, where you look over the set before it lands in the gallery.

NOTE
On the web app, the capture flow is a drag-and-drop, multi-select drop zone rather than a live camera — drop files in or pick a batch from your computer, then review it the same way.

§When the signal drops

Bad coverage doesn’t cost you photos. If an upload fails from bad signal, the photo’s card shows ⤓ OFFLINE QUEUED and it uploads automatically when signal returns — no action needed from you. Cards that fail outright show FAILED and get a RETRY button.

TIP
Shoot even with zero bars. The offline queue means capture never depends on coverage — tag and shoot the whole job on site, and let the uploads catch up on the drive back.
