INVITE A SUBCONTRACTOR

§ PORTALS + SUBS4 min READUPDATED 2026-08

Send a portal invite, walk your sub through signup and onboarding, and manage access requests.

Subcontractors get their own portal — separate from the homeowner portal — where they see assignments, message you, submit payment requests, and keep compliance documents current. It starts with an invite from the SUBS hub.

WHERE: SUBS → INVITES → + INVITE

§Send the invite

  1. 01Open the SUBS tab and go to INVITES.
  2. 02Press + INVITE to send a portal invite to the subcontractor.
  3. 03Track pending invites from the same screen.
NOTE
The trade options offered during sub signup come from your company trade list (Admin Console → CUSTOMIZATION → Trades). Keep it current so subs can classify themselves correctly.

§What the sub fills out

The invite leads to a seven-section signup that collects everything you need before the first job:

  • Account — their login details.
  • Business — company identity.
  • Location & trades — where they work and what they do.
  • Licensing — license details.
  • Insurance — general liability and workers’ comp, with an exempt path where that applies.
  • Payment preferences — how they want to be paid.
  • Review & submit.

After signup, an in-app onboarding wizard finishes the picture: business info → address and service areas → insurance/COI/W-9 upload → review. Their compliance documents land with expiry tracking, so DOCS and COMPLIANCE in your hub stay honest.

§Access requests

The ACCESS sub-tab in the SUBS hub handles access requests, so you stay in control of which subcontractors are connected to your company.
